Shanghai Society of Refrigeration (SSR) was founded on April29,1981. It grew out of the Refrigeration Chapter of Shanghai Societyof Mechanical Engineering since 1950’s.SSR is under the guidanceby Chinese Association of Refrigeration. Now SSR has more than2000 individual members from universities, research institutes, designinstitutions and industries, and over 50 delegate members. A largenumber of the members are famous scientists and engineers in therefrigeration field in Shanghai. In recent years, it has been awardedthe "three-star society" by Shanghai Association for Science & Tech-nology as well as the "outstanding society" by Chinese Association ofRefrigeration for several times.
